Haley is accepting new clients at the Lakewood Location only at this time. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving Colorado. I have earned my Bachelor’s degree (BASc) in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Prevention and Intervention Sciences from Colorado State University, and my Master’s Degree (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychotherapy from Northwestern University. I’ve worked in several private practice settings as an independent contractor, supporting women experiencing complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. I’m passionate about helping women find relief, reconcile difficult feelings regarding intimate relationships, and experience self-acceptance, as they gain a better understanding of themselves in a multifaceted context. I believe that providing a safe space for clients to work through conflicts in attaching to others in a new, meaningful way and gradually forming a secure attachment, is essential to healing.

18+ Individuals only Professional Counseling Student, M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Adams State University - Liz can only see 18+ individuals. Please book your consult with a different therapist if you are 18 or under or a couple.

Liz believes in de-mystifying the process of therapy and helping clients access the tools within themselves to make changes in their lives. A key component of that is recognizing that our personalities and coping mechanisms aren’t developed in a vacuum. They are products of our genetics, our environments and our experiences – especially some of our earliest. Without considerable reflection and intention, many people end up going through life in auto-pilot without a fully developed sense of Self, which can greatly impact the way they show up in the world, in their relationships and for themselves. Liz truly strives to provide a warm, comfortable, and judgment-free therapeutic experience that enables clients to connect to their most authentic selves as they embark on their healing journeys.

Liz is currently in her second year at Adams State University pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to working in the mental health field, Liz spent over a decade as a researcher studying human behavior; interviewing a variety of different individuals, couples and groups on a range of topics; identifying key patterns/connections; and synthesizing the findings in ways that were actionable and easy to understand. In addition to her current graduate pursuits in counseling, she holds a Master’s Degree in Market Research with a Minor in Statistics, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a Minor in Business from Virginia Tech University.

Liz’s unique background allows her to approach clients with a high level of empathy, compassion and open-mindedness along with a refined skill set built around deepening insights and understanding and truly getting to the heart of an issue.

Liz offers comprehensive individual therapy for parents, young adults & middle aged adults.

Liz is passionate about working with clients who have experienced trauma in their lives, particularly in early childhood. She has a strong interest and expertise in depression, anxiety, attachment issues, relationship issues, infertility and family dynamics.

In her spare time, Liz enjoys traveling, hiking, snowboarding and caring for any plant or animal in her general line of vision! She also finds deep fulfillment in listening to music and plays (both) the piano & ukulele as a way to de-stress and practice presence.

Liz’s Favorite Quote: The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths. – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

McKenna earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and has an undergraduate degree in Managerial Economics, with a minor in psychology, from University of California, Davis. McKenna has grown a deep passion for helping others struggling with mental health and intentionally walking alongside them in the process of personal growth and healing. She has a diverse professional background working with individuals experiencing homelessness, severe mental health challenges and finds rich meaning working as a counselor; focusing on depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief and trauma.

McKenna values establishing and providing a safe space for her clients to explore their innermost selves with openness and curiosity. She believes healing occurs when we can examine our past experiences and look at how they may inform current ways of being. McKenna closely works with her clients to identify unhelpful patterns and self limiting beliefs that are not aligned with their deeper values and hopes. Regardless of the type of specific challenges and concerns that clients bring to counseling, it is her goal to support them in creating a life of authenticity and connection to self, others and the natural world.

When McKenna is not working with clients, you can find her skiing, hiking, spending quality time with friends, trying new restaurants and (happily) being a ‘stand-in dog mom’ for loved ones!

BIO: People tend to face a multitude of stressors in this fast-paced, growing world and struggle to take a step back and connect with their inner Self. I aim to meaningfully empower diverse individuals to reach holistic wellness through implementing affirmative attitudes, self-care plans and life-balance strategies, something that is too often a struggle for so many of us.

I am passionate about genuinely holding a safe space for individuals from all walks of life to explore finding deep meaning and fulfilling relationships through evidence-based treatment interventions.

Sydney is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program student and Counselor-in-Training at Northwestern University. Over the past few years, Sydney has worked with various populations including individuals experiencing homelessness, disabilities, severe mental health challenges, elder and disability abuse and those struggling with persistent low mood and hopelessness.

Sydney provides individual therapy for young adults, older adults and parents in need of support. Sydney deeply enjoys working with individuals that identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC.

Sydney primarily draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Something that always gives me a sense of ease is connecting with nature. I love intentionally engaging with the world around me and practicing mindfulness (especially outside!) whenever possible. When thinking about my favorite peaceful moment, I think of summer camping with my favorite people and my dog, of course!

More than just my work:

I’ve played all kinds of sports, including soccer, volleyball, lacrosse (which I was, admittedly, never very good at) and tennis. I am definitely best with a racquet in my hand!

I was born in a small town in Oregon where I had a dog and a pet goat as my best friends.

I am a professional banana bread maker and it always includes chocolate chips.
