Erica Baldwin
(She/Her/Hers)
LPCC
Meet Erica B., LPCC
Erica is an LPCC and a Walden University graduate with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the last four years, she has worked in various settings including residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient, assisting clients to find the light within themselves to illuminate their epic journey toward the self. She has worked with a variety of human experiences, from active psychosis to situational anxiety.
Navigating the world today can be more challenging than ever. As we grow up, we often carry habits and beliefs into adulthood that can complicate our experiences. Throughout life, we learn skills and interpret information to help us cope with our surroundings—this is our brain’s way of protecting us from potential pain. While none of us are broken, we might find ourselves relying on skills and beliefs that no longer serve us. I believe that becoming aware of these core beliefs and instincts is the essential first step toward healing and fostering lasting change. I employ a holistic and person-centered approach in the therapeutic process to create and hold a space of deep exploration, a space where you can view yourself from a compassionate, curious space that allows you to open up space for consciously choosing your own path. Everyone has different needs, views, perspectives and stories. I cannot fix you, as I do not believe you are broken. Rather, I believe that when given a safe, welcoming and comforting environment, one can move forward with ease and confidence that they are moving towards their true self.
Client Focus: Individuals, Couples, Children (10+), Adolescents & Teens Types of therapy: Humanistic, CBT, IFS, Existential, Gestalt, Adlerian, Attachment, Somatic, Trauma-Focused Issues: Anxiety, Depression, Identity, Grief & Loss, Substance Abuse
>“It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as mere steps on the path and to proceed.” - Ram Dass
Bet You Didn’t Know I love cycling. The freedom of the road and the accomplishment of achieving a goal using only my body cultivate an immense sense of satisfaction and confidence within me.
Bonus Fact Before I was a therapist, I worked in the music and motorsports industries.

Caroline Atkin
(She/Her/Hers)
LMFT
Meet Caroline A., LMFT
Caroline is a collaborative & strengths-based therapist who works from a systemic perspective; she focuses on how your personal relationships, behavior patterns, and life choices are interconnected with the “systems” that you are a part of – your relationships, family, socioeconomic class, physical environment, life experiences, etc. She works thoughtfully with her clients to help them find a balance between taking care of themselves and living a life that feels deeply meaningful while accounting for all of the different parts of your life that play a factor in tending to your individual needs and maintaining fulfilling relationships.
Caroline works to make sure that she creates a warm and inviting therapeutic space in which you feel safe to authentically show up as/express yourself. She has experience working with a wide variety of presenting issues, particularly relationship issues, communication skills, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, goal setting, and stress management. She also has experience working with clients experiencing grief, chronic pain, and healing from past trauma. Caroline particularly enjoys working with couples and adult individuals navigating life-stage transitions and personal relationships.
She continuously works to be an ally and safe space for all people, especially LGBTQ+, BIPOC, body positive, sex positive & kink, open relationships and non-monogamy communities. At her core, Caroline believes all people deserve equal treatment, fulfillment, happiness and empathetic support.
Caroline has her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science (Human Development and Family Studies) from Indiana University-Bloomington. She is a ‘Prepare & Enrich’ Certified Facilitator for couples – including couples interested in pre-marital aspects of counseling. Caroline is experienced and trained in all of the primary couples therapy clinical modalities, including, the evidence-based couples counseling framework – Gottman Couples Therapy. She also is passionate about the ‘Food & Mood’ approach, as a mind-body connection based approach – which closely examines the impact our diet (and our relationship with food) has on our mental and emotional health.
Caroline truly values authenticity in her relationships with her clients and feels that it is imperative to use therapeutic self-disclosure to create a space in which you feel you aren’t opening up and being vulnerable with a stranger. Caroline sees herself as a collaborative therapist, offering tools and education to offer insight and assistance for her clients but ultimately, she believes her clients are the experts of their own personal experiences. Caroline strives to work with her clients to leverage their natural talents and abilities to help them lead a happier, healthier, more balanced life and to achieve their personal goals. She focuses on meeting clients where they are, offering different techniques and therapeutic strategies based on the specific needs of the client – she thoughtfully offers solution-focused strategies, explores family of origin patterns, supports the development of boundaries and coping strategies and works to increase positive self-talk and self-compassion for her clients.
Bet you didn’t know: In her free time, Caroline loves spending quality time with her husband and 3 ‘fur babies’ – 2 sweet dogs and a cute tabby cat. She also enjoys spending time hiking, weaving, painting, seeing live music, organizing and hosting parties with her friends.

Meet Laurissa M., Intern
Laurissa Miech is a clinical social work intern with Self Care Impact Counseling.
As a dedicated Social Work Intern, I am deeply passionate about empowering clients to navigate their unique challenges and pursue personal growth. My journey into social work began with a profound desire to positively impact individual’s lives, which was sparked by my own transformative experiences and the healing power of therapy. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in Social Work, where I have acquired valuable insights into a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions. During my internship, I prioritize creating a supportive and safe environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and emotions. This therapeutic space is essential for fostering open discussions, which ultimately lead to the development of healthier coping strategies and enhanced emotional resilience. I am committed to utilizing evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and strengths-based approaches. Through CBT, I help clients recognize and challenge negative thought patterns, enabling them to cultivate a more positive mindset. Meanwhile, strengths-based approaches allow me to focus on clients’ inherent strengths and resources, guiding them to identify and leverage these qualities in overcoming obstacles. My overarching goal is to foster resilience and self-efficacy in my clients, empowering them to take control of their mental health journeys. I believe that by equipping individuals with the right tools and support, they can navigate their challenges and emerge stronger, more confident, and more equipped to face future hurdles.
Laurissa Miech is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at Grand Canyon University, where she is deepening her knowledge and skills in the field of social work. She previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, along with a minor in Sociology, from the University of Wyoming. This educational background has equipped her with a vigorous understanding of human behavior, mental health, and the various factors influencing individual and communal well-being.
